The Council uses a banding scheme to prioritise applications.

All housing and transfer applications received for rented accommodation will be assessed and placed in one of 4 bands, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Priority. The table below sets out the banding scheme and gives examples of those applicants who would be eligible to be placed in each band.

 Band  Criteria  Examples

Most Owner Occupiers
Silver Includes all Applicants with a housing need
Gold

Applicants who have been accepted as statutory Homeless

Cases where the current housing situation must is so severely affecting health that it could lead to rapid deterioration of health or become life threatening.

Cases where the welfare or support needs are so great that the household is at significant risk if left in their current accommodation.
